This high-strength, high-modulus PVA fiber can disperse quickly and easily in the mortar and concrete mix after being added into the base materials. Due to its fine micro structure and large specific surface area–a cubic centimeter of concrete can contain nearly thirty five fibers, the fiber can form a randomly oriented support system in concrete which thus can effectively control the formation and development of non-structural cracking such as plastic shrinkage cracking and drying shrinkage cracking, effectively reduce the segregation of aggregate and the formation of settlement cracking. As a result, the concrete’s impermeability, impact resistance, toughness and abrasion resistance are greatly improved and thus the architecture’s service life is greatly prolonged.
